
The foyer of the courtroom area reveals the architectural contrasts of the building: old and new; inside and outside; lines and circles. The modern white wall on the right side of the foyer consists of 14 separate

niches. Opposite is the continuation of the wall of Jerusalem stone. The entrance to the courtrooms suggest gates hewn into the stone wall, which are a reminder that judges sat at the gates to the city during biblical times. “You will have judges and officers who sit at the gates of the city,” (Deuteronomy 16:18).
